For 2015 we had the ability to use our key fob to start our cars. I did this nearly everyday, doing the 1 press pause 2 press pause 3 press and hold.. this used to work, suddenly it no longer works.

Since this featured was not even featured in our manuals, I doubt I'd find a solution there.

Anyone care to try and see if theirs still works? Did Lexus zap my car and ability to start it, remote app from phone works fine.

Is your total customer connect account still active? If not that feature will no longer work. Lexus gives you a 1 year trial but if that has expired that may be your answer.

Hmm... Mine still works on my 13. I find that the factory remote start is a bit lackluster and tends to need perfect conditions in order to work. I'm guessing the other thing to look at would be maybe try the second keyfob and see if there is any response.

It should be, I've had the car for 4 months now, and my enform app remote start still works.

Do all GS's have the availability to start the car with the remote if you have the RES? I asked my delivery specialist and she said that you have to have a different key fob, and it didn't work on mine.

For 2015s at least, that's a negative. I just activated the app and the keyfob worked also... which is why I find it weird my fob has suddenly stopped.

The system is quite finicky and needs ideal conditions to work correctly such as nothing covering the car (i.e., parking garage) and good data connection. Try it somewhere in the open to see if it works. If not, there was an update for the system a few months ago, so maybe your car needs it?

As far as I know the keyfobs are the same for cars equipped and ones that are not. I had the viper smartstart system installed and I am able to start the car with three clicks of the lock button in addition to using the paid service through the app on my phone. It would be a travesty if Lexus bundled the remote start via the fob as a part of the paid subscription since no telematics are involved when using the key.

I have the Viper SmartStart as well and didn't know that I could use the key fob. Is that something the installer would program or does it work our of the box that way?

Apparently newer viper modules have lost this function for some reason. Not sure why.

I tried using the 3 clicks on my key fob, but it didn't work. I do have a 2015. My delivery specialist said that I didn't have the right key fob, but I don't know how to tell if you have the right one or not (assuming she's right) or if you can get the right one if it would even work.

I would think if they're going to have two separate key fobs, one with remote start and one without, then the one with remote start would have a separate button. Honestly I haven't been impressed with the remote start on the Lexus anyway. I don't like how if you use the app to start your car as soon as you open the door it kills the engine. You can't adjust the climate settings or turn the defroster on, unless I'm missing something.

A lot of people are ill informed about the remote start, if you have a 2015 you have remote start however you need to set up enform first and set up the car control from the app. After that is set up and registered, the keyfob will also start the car by doing the lock method. 2 presses in a 1 break break 2 break break then a 3rd doing a hold.

Update: my other keyfob starts the car but my main one still doesn't.

Thanks! Second fob works... guess I'll get it looked at during my maintenance.

Also, is there maybe a pairing process? Maybe my key got unpaired..

Could be the battery. IIRC the range for the remote start and the alarm system are different. A dying battery could decrease the range a good deal.
