I purchased a used 2013 GS350 F Sport AWD a year ago that only came with one key fob. I checked with the local Lexus dealership and they said that it will cost $300 + tax.

Does this sound right? Am I getting screwed? Is there a cheaper way to get a new key fob?

Yes that's about right. I've found them for ~$80 on eBay. If you find one with a blank physical key already you'd just have to additionally pay to cut the key and program it at the dealership.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll take a look on Ebay to see if I can find one.

I also have been thinking about getting a smart card key, but those are more expensive from the dealership. Approximately $450.

That sounds about right- if that includes the labor to program it to your car. I was sitting in the dealers waiting room once when the service advisor came in and told the guy next to me that his ebay bought fob wouldn't pair. He wasn't happy. Those fobs are model and year specific, the 13 and 14 might be the same, might not. The only safe way is through the dealer- sorry. good luck.......
