Wondering if anyone has heard or seen any information on if the AWD is getting the 8 speed transmission in 2015.
Thanks.

Have no idea why people are so scared of the 8 speed auto. It's much better than the 6 speed, IMO.
maybe it's just that this is my third car with an 8 speed auto, but i find it to be very well judged.

Had the 8 speed rwd fsport, on the track Father's Day weekend...Kept it in auto ,in sport plus and the car was amazing ...held gears when need to ,dropped gears when it should off,it was simply fantastic...I have know idea why people don't like it...

I was making a turn on time and i dropped my speed to around 15mp/h, then i shifted to M mode to see what gear I was in, guess what it was still 6gear. I moved the shifter back to S mode and waited patiently as the car speed up.

There's no way the car would keep the transmission in 6th gear going 15mph, especially in Sport. It won't even let you keep it above 4th gear anywhere below ~40mph. Unless the gear ratios changed that much between the 6 and 8 speed...

It does! All the time. Maybe not 6, but 5 gear all day long b/n 20-30. It does it S+ as well, just checked it today

Blame this on the eco friendly trend where manufactures try to do what ever they can to increase fuel economy so they can advertise as the car being able to do those mpg ratings on the window sticker. if we had it our way, the mpg figures on those window stickers would be much lower.

I will tell you why, when you drive the car hard or in your case in the track, you have it reved up and the car performs as it should, so is mine. The issue comes when you are just cruising around at 30-40mp/h and all the sudden you need to hit the gas, the car is usually is in 5gear around 30mp/h and possibly in 6gear around 36mp/h. So when you floor it, it will not down shift, instead it will try to speed up first and only a few seconds later it will down shift and will go as it should.!!!

My BMW did this and it was frustrating. On the GS, it responds very quickly.

I hope they eventually add the 8spd to the AWD. I almost didn't go w/ the GS because the AWD didn't have it and was afraid the MPG would suck w/ the 6sp (BTW, it kinda does).
