iPhone text messages get read but are not marked as read
As the title says, I can get my incoming text messages read to me in the car but after they are read to me they are not marked as read on the iPhone. This gets rather annoying because even though I've already read the message, or had it read to me, I keep getting the reminder tone that I have a new unread message. I do have the setting enabled for mark as read on phone, but it doesn't seem to be working properly, or at least as I'm expecting it to. Is this normal for the GS or what am I missing? I tried searching to see if this was a common issue but came up with nothing, just issues about E-mails not being read and not being able to reply to messages with the iPhone.
BTW, my car is a 2013 GS F-Sport with navi and no ML and I'm using an iPhone 5 with the latest OS (iOS 7.0.6).
Thanks in advance for your input.

This is normal and just how it works. It's the same on my RX and my IS. Limited functionality from Apple...

My emails are also read to me as well as my text messages on my 2013 GS awd. Cannot respond due to MAP issues with Apple. I heard will change with software update 7.1 with Apple later in March you will be able to at least respond to text messages with the canned responses in our system. Turn on notification for emails under settings and you will also get your emails from all your accounts.

Thanks for the replies! Damn Apple! Hopefully this and the reply issue does get resolved with 7.1 or even 8.0.

Go to SETTINGS in iphone. Then click Notification Center, then click MAIL, then click each of your email accounts then under ALERT HEADING for each email TURN ON SHOW IN NOTIFICATION CENTER. That's it. Stay in touch. Now you will receive all texts and emails on your navigation screen. I you are driving, the audio talks to you. If you are stopped or in neutral, audio and visual are there for you. At this time we cannot respond without using the handset with bluetooth.
