Default 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport vs 2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport

Published on Nov 6, 2013
The 2013 Lexus GS F Sport has taken down the likes of the BMW 535i, Audi A6 and Infiniti M37 in previous comparisons, and is our reigning king of the luxury performance sedan segment. The new 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport brings two turbos, over 100 more horsepower, and a history of excellent track-day capability to the table, but weighs over 100 lbs. more than the Lexus. Can the light, balanced, and nimble Lexus hold its own against the American powerhouse Cadillac CTS V Sport? On this episode of Head 2 Head, Jonny Lieberman takes both cars to the testing grounds, canyon roads, and finally the racetrack to find out.

Good review overall.....GS needs more power ASAP.

I prefer interior/exterior of the GS by far.

Not sure if he mentioned if the GS had the rear steering option?

who knew... i agree, maybe the rear steer would have made a difference. but then again Caddie with the twin turbo and all that torque with the tricked out suspension...

I wouldn't trade in my GS F Sport for that car. I rather have the Lexus over Caddy that have nothing but problems and the resale value on the Lexus will be high in the long run.

Modern Caddys are very reliable (IQS scores are high) and have excellent resale (CTS won an ALG resale award).

This car will sell well.

Saw a couple dealers already replace both turbos. This is no lie. PDI fail.

I like how he called the front end of the F-Sport "hideous." That's exactly what I thought when I went Lexus shopping. When I realized the F-Sport and the Premium/Luxury had the same engine, I went for the better looking front end of the Premium/Luxury. If they put a much more powerful engine in the F-Sport, I might be able to get past the look of the front end and get one in a couple of years. The f-Sport should have an engine that can do a sub-four second 0-60, just like the Caddy.

At least Cadillac changes something under the hood for their sport models. With Lexus and just about everyone else, it's just fancy little pieces of kit here and there.

The GS is definitely outclassed by the twin turbo in the Caddy but nice to see it is up there with the best, surpassing the 5 Series.

2014 CTS V-Sport only has two price options. At $60k they are well equiped.
