Oil Change at 2,000 miles. Look at What I Found in the Oil Filter
I am one of those people that believes you cannot change the oil too often. I usually try to change the oil on a new car at 1,000 miles. Then, every 5,000 miles there after. I just completed the first oil change on my son's GS 350 at 2,000 miles. Upon cutting open the oil filter I found some expected metal flakes. The filter did its job.
The second set of photos are of my 2012 BMW 535I at its first oil change at 3,000 miles. Yeah, a tad late but we left on a road trip when it had 700 miles on it. I should have changed it before we left.
It appears from the photos that the BMW had a lot more metal in the filter.

I got the same thing at the first 500 miles oil change, there are many tiny metal inside the filter housing and the filter. So I do the oil change at 2000 miles, 5K, 10K. Then at every 10K with Mobil 1 and factory filter.
Same thing with my Sienna & G37. The first 500 miles or 1K they have so many tiny metal.
