How often do you change your oil when using synthetic?

How often do you change your oil when using synthetic?
From what I understand, the guidelines in the manual call for conventional oil and a change every 5K. This includes changing the oil filter. What do you do when using synthetic? Do you change ever 10K? Do you still change the oil filter ever 5K? If so, then do you need to drain the engine to remove the filter first or can you just take it out?

This topic has been covered many times. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic and I do an oil change every 10K. However, I do change my filter at every 5K and top off the oil. There are a few threads that others have posted with the Black Stone report on the synthetic oil used for 10K and the results are more than favorable. To me, changing out the perfectly good synthetic oil at every 5K is kind of a waste unless you want to.

I change mine between 3-4k miles even with synthetic. Yes I'm **** and yes I could go longer but it makes me happy and sleep better at night.

I would do it every 5k to be safe. Safe from what? I'm not sure. lol
I imagine every 10k would be fine, **** if my dad can drive his rx300 and put 10k on it and the car runs perfectly fine... why not.

Long oil change intervals are recommended with synthetic.
BMW for example has 15K oil changes.
Amsoil
Severe driving 15K miles or one year.
I've had a Blackstone analysis done at 10K on the RAV4on Amsoil and the oil still had plenty of life left.
