"Easy Exit". Not so easy for me to figure out.
Hi folks. I've read the manual and cannot seem to figure out how to modify the "easy exit" settings. I don't want the seat to go back all the way, etc. Do you access the customizable features using the navigation screen "display" function? I have the "luxury" package and starting at page 777 of the user's manual is of little help. Any help would be appreciated.

Changing the easy exit setting will only disable the seat movement. Disabling the steering wheel retract requires a change by the dealer. (At least that's what it took on my LS.) As steering column motor failure was fairly common on the LS430, many folks had the auto retract feature switched off.

The steering wheel retraction didn't bother me - but I suspect the easy exit would be really irritating to the person sitting behind the driver - unless they are small kids. I turned that off before I left the dealership on the first day! lol!

Yep, I disabled the seat and will decide if I want the steering column disabled before my first service visit. My dealer will do one courtesy reset of all dealer-settable features. They will also do other resets for free when doing other paid service that requires getting out the equipment.

Lexus offers a free courtesy 1K mile check up and personal setting appointment. You should bring it up during the appointment and they should set it to the way you like it.
I will have my 1000 mile LPS appointment next Tuesday. It is a good idea to tell the dealership to disable the seat retraction as well. I am fine with the steering wheel tilt.

In my M45 I had the seat that moved back for easy entrance. The circuit went bad one day and when I entered the car the seat never moved back forward. I had to drive around for days like a baller with pillows at my back and my arms stretched out just to reach the pedals and steering wheel!
