Spinning lug nut when trying to tighten it
After a brake checkup on my 08 GS 350, I put back wheel and was tightening lug nuts, but one of them was worn out and started spinning. The end result is a loose lug nut, free spinned even by hand!
I tried to use impact wrench, or any tool to ****** the head to turn to take it off. None worked. Looks like the last resort is to send to dealer.
Anyone knows how to take it off. Any suggestion is welcome. Thanks in avdvance.

Your lug stud splines are probably stripped. Was there a lot of resistance when initially tightening the lug nut? You can try jacking up the car, taking off all the other lug nuts and have someone pull the wheel while you try to take the lugnut off. I've been successful a few times when I tried that.

Depends on front or rear and how the access is to removing the nut. Some cars you can just pull the wheel and with a hammer, hammer in the stud and they pop out of the back. Sometimes you may need to take apart the brakes get access to them.
aftermarket studs and lugs are pretty accurate and o riley can usualy match them.
When installing the new stud you have to press fit to seat the stud. You can easily do this buy using the lug nut against the rotor and tighten it done untill the stud locks into place.

I used a flat head screw driver with hammer to penetrate the nut cap and found that it was indeed a spinning stud. Due to this muddy situation, I drove to dealership and expected about $350 repair since they said there is another stud almost cross threaded. Looks like next time I will definitely torque the lug nut and use hand tool. Lesson learned!
