i would go for the gs350...supringly faster ,i have a 2010 gs350 my coworker has a ls460 and when we get on the ramp for the highway i blow past him,so no performance loss on the gs350 ,i dont understand why the cheaper car is faster it just is

This reminds me of that time I raced a V8 Crown Vic in my V6 Mustang. Sure am glad I didn't buy the V8 Mustang, it's gotta be slower...

Well still looking at this vehicle. The owner took it into lexus for a water pump, transmission flush, and new lexus battery. I had a chance to take a look at the body a little better, and there is some normal wear and tear and some rock chips, which definitely does drop the condition a bit.
What I found most troubling was when they had the engine cover off I noticed that the plastic housing that the wiring goes through above the intake manifold was taped together with black duct tape. Lexus to their credit noted that it was probably cracked when they did the valve spring recall, but when I asked them if they cracked it would they have used duct tape? they couldn't answer that.
It's been a while since I've held together things with duct tape in a vehicle, but it worries me. In my head if lexus cracked it they would have replaced it. If they didn't crack it then has someone else been in the engine? Mylexus shows quite a bit of maintenance done at Lexus, but it definitely worries me.

carfax notes 3 owners thus far, no accidents, and a lot of maintenance from Lexus. When the car was in with Lexus they did an inspection and found no glaring items. I went to go look at it in person twice in two days and looked around for leaks etc and didn't really see anything glaring either.
Just duct tape...
I makes me worry what else has been touched...

I've learned to never trust Carfax. Said my car was clean, but a year after I bought it, it said it had fronted damage. Also, my parents bought an Accord for a commuter car, and the Carfax read clean.... Same thing, about a year and a half later, it came back as totaled with deployed airbags. Best to just have the dealership do an inspection before buying.
Oh, and the 350 is definitely slower than the 460.

It's nearly impossible to have it not crack from how brittle it becomes due to the location in the engine bay. You'll notice this on GS460s, LS460s, and IS-Fs that had the fuel pressor regulator recall. It's not something to worry about; I'm sure mine has duck tape on it too.
I've had to deal with electric gremlins before and they SUCK. After seeing the engine without the cover on it, I'm not sure I could even chase the electrical gremlins on this car.

I'm sure they probably would too, only issue with that though is that the recalls were both performed already.

Nevermind the 400 pound weight difference between them, the suspension is also a lot different.
If you want to justify getting the GS350 over the GS460, say that it's because it's easier to find one with the right exterior/interior color or features (ML, nav, dynamic cruise etc) that you like because Lexus imported less than 50 GS460's a year after 2009. Or say that it's because the GS350 is cheaper to insure (it is, significantly).
But faster? Do the math, the GS350 has an extra pound per horsepower over the GS460 (3945 lbs / 342 HP vs 3795 lbs 303 HP), nevermind the difference in their HP/torque curves. Or just find a source for their 0-60 times: 5.4 vs 5.7.

everyone in the world no that you want to get the best bang for the buck ,some members have there own experiances with there cars which will give info for a buyer, doesnt mean its set in stone, its just info ,not a bragging match

The GS350 is a fine car, and preferable in some ways that I've already explained (availability, insurance). If I was forced to have the V6, I'm not sure if I'd choose yours or the newer GS350's with the 8-speed automatic, which is the main draw on my GS460 for highway MPG. I don't like the grill on the new cars, and I don't like the navi controls.
