Rubber seal between doors peeling off?
Hey everyone. The door seal between the driver's side front and rear doors on my car is coming loose -- the rubber piece that seals out wind/water/noise?/etc. between where the driver's side front door closes and meets the rear door by the B-pillar. I looked at the way it's designed and meant to be applied and was curious if using gorilla glue or some variant of high strength adhesive would do the trick? It seems to be drying up where the rubber meets the sheet metal.
Has this hapened to anyone, and if so what was the rememdy? Did you just reapply adhesive and call it a day, or was an entire new rubber stripping required?
Thanks!

I have had the same problem over the last 3 years i had my car so you're not alone. I have the JDM visors installed and the rubber on both passenger and driver fronts are becoming so loose that every time that i open the door, 2 tabs on the rubber pop out and i have to latch them back in. Its even worse when the car has been in the sun for an hour or so. Called the stealership and they are charging me $200 per side to replace the rubber.. kinda excessive if you ask me. I applied sil glide to the rubber after one of the techs at lexus told me that its just the rubber expanding in heat or something. No cigar.. I wish there was a TSB for the trunk button melting as well as the rubber trim around the doors coming loose. I mean i rarely put on 3000 miles/year on the car and its garage kept..

Yeah. I find it odd since the warmer weather usually keeps glues and adhesives "stickier." Even more oddly enough is that the rubber between the doors (the piece attached to the rear door where the hinge connects to) is now behaving normally. It's back to the way it was, albeit with a little play, but not hanging off or unhinged. I intend on going to a Home Depot near me to see what adhesives work well with rubber to sheet metal applications. The application of the rubber seems easy to understand when looking at the same piece on the passenger side. The sucky part is that the rubber has a small tear in it probably from the constant opening and closing of the door and since there was play in the rubber, caused it to wear away at it.
Sha4000 -- I do not have pictures, nor able to upload any at the moment. The area/ piece I am referring to is basically looking at the side profile of your car - the crevice between where the drivers side front door meets the rear door at the B-pillar... it's the rubber piece when you open the drivers door and look at about the height of where the car handle is. The rubber you will see there is what I am referring to. Honestly never saw this happen on any cars I've owned and this happens to be the nicest car I've ev er bought so far which is surprising to me that something so small and miniscule in design would have this issue. (looking at you Lexus)
