Default TPMS issues

I'm frustrated with my TPMS system on my 07 GS 350. Lexus dealer told me I need to purchase four OEM sensors at $90 each for my summer wheels which aren't even a year old and worked fine for a couple thousand miles. They couldn't get my stock snow wheels and sensors to work either. So are eight OEM sensors and $750 in my future? I don't mind my winter wheels not reading but the "check system" warning with the yellow and red light all summer long is a bummer!

One set bad... okay, maybe. Both sets bad... what makes them so sure it's all the sensors and not the tpms computer itself which sits on top of the head unit?

What Jay said, I'm a bit in disbelief 8 TPMS sensors can all be faulty all at once.

Do you have a friend with a Lexus that can use their car as a test car on your TPMS sensors?

Thanks for your help people. Jay, are you saying the tpms computer is a separate unit? I just assumed it was just part of some master brain box. I only have 9000 miles left on my certified warranty and would love to get this problem fixed. I'd like to just disconnect it and check tires like I've been doing for a long time but since it's government mandated that may not be an option.

To knock this out of the ballpark, I'd take your set, give it to your Lexus brother nearby, or a Lexus owner you know, have them get your set computed into the car's system and see if the TPMS system is faulty or the sensors.

STRESS to the dealer that 8 sensors can't go wrong all at once, and STRESS to them to have the computer checked and to try the TPMS sensors on another vehicle same year.

I'm sure they have 3GS' on the lot somewhere around. GL!

Thanks GoKoU. I think if I also keep whining to the dealer they may finally find the problem. Trouble is they are 150 miles from me, have to take the day off and all that good stuff!

OUCH, take it to them, with your spare set, and have them diagnose the system....

GL! Definitely report back to us what the problem was!
