Check Oil Message?
Hi guys I drive a 2009 GS 350 AWD and I just noticed in the last few days whenever I start it up I receive a check oil message on the navigation screen and not sure what it means as I have more than 4000 kms left until my next required oil change. Also my car's warranty expired in May so not sure if I should contact dealer about it or not as the message last for a seconds then disappears after a few seconds.

Sounds like you have an oil change maintenance reminder that needs to be reset in the Navi. The Navi maintenance reminders are set/reset by the owner and are separate from your instrument panel reminders etc. Typically you set in a date or mileage amount to trigger the reminder/Navi notice.
Check out yourNavi/owners manual.
Cheers

I wonder if it is the same thing as "Oil Maint. Reqd" on US-spec cars. Because in my owner manual, where the instructions on how to reset the warning, it says (USA Only).
Try resetting it and see if it clears it. Here is the copy of USA-spec instructions.
Resetting the engine oil maintenance data (U.S.A. only)
Perform the following steps:
STEP 1 Press the “DISP” switch (→P. 140) to change the multi-information display
to blank.
STEP 2 Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to OFF.
STEP 3 Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON mode with
the trip meter reset button held down.
STEP 4 Keep pressing the button for longer than 7 seconds after the “ENGINE
START STOP” switch is in IGNITION ON mode.
After the above operation, the message
shown in the left will appear on the display.
The master warning light and tone will turn
on. After 5 seconds, the system reset is completed.

Hey I just realized something else as I went into the Maintenance section of the Navigation Screen and I checked the Oil Change Folder and it says due date of June 7, 2013 but still under 4000 KM until next oil change. Could it be that since the date is passed that's why the message is coming up even though the KM is not up yet? I am not sure if previous technicians filled out the date section in the navigation screen as I never checked it and I never had the message come up even though I've been over due on many occasions for oil changes.

I don't know how it works on Canada-spec cars. On US-spec cars that warning pops up 5000 mi after the last reset regardless of anything else. I try to change my oil every time it pos up, +- few hundred miles. In that case I don't have to worry about the Oil Change folder in maintenance schedule.
Or you can go by the Oil Change forlder and don't worry about the warning, just reset it when it pops up.
