Awd & Rwd pros & cons
#2
AWD: Better traction, more weight, higher price, less fuel economy
RWD: Less traction, less weight, better fuel economy, lower price
Also on the GS the AWD model sits 10mm higher then the RWD and has a little less leg room due to the transfer case. I suppose it depends on the types of roads your drivng on. I must saw my AWD G350 is amazing in the rain/snow even with 18" wheels.

Lowering the AWD produces undesirable wobbling and or vibration. So if you are planning on lowering an AWD, buy bags or just don't lower it. No wait... just put it on bags.
GS300 RWD is the bargain of the bunch, is the lightest, but also the least powerful. If you are going for outright speed, keep reading. If you are going for a well rounded luxury sport touring car, look no further.
GS300 AWD builds on the aforementioned. It weighs roughly what a GS350 RWD weighs, and is arguably the best handling 3rd gen GS.
The GS460 is the most powerful, but only comes in RWD. Buy this one for speed and likelihood of the most options.
The GS430 is probably the best bang for your buck and has nice low-end torque that the GS350 does not have.
The GS350 AWD, IMHO, is the best all-rounder for performance, options (upgraded screen & nav), and all weather capability.
A GS350 RWD with snow tires is also very good in the mess, and you get marginally better mileage as 98GS430 indicated.
AND... if gas smileage is what you're after, the GS450h is a luxurious hybrid that has proven to be very reliable. It is also a quick machine, but does sacrifice trunk space.
Hope that helps.
