IS this normal for a gs350?

Most people dont keep their cars that long so they wont see the affects but if you're planning to put 200k miles on it before getting rid of it then you won't want to do things like that. But until you keep you keep your cars that long, the way you drive like that, you don't know for sure.

That's right Kev. Very annoying indeed!
Another annoying thing in our 8 speed 460's is how long it takes for the car to decide which gear it wants to downshift to. It usually takes two tries to get it right!
But I tell you what, there is no better feeling than a kick down at 10/12 mph where it goes straight to 1st gear!!! Daaaaamn!

Power mode in a hilly area?? Can you point me to that. I rarely notice the delayed shifting unless I am going up a big hill at lower speed and have had it happen in both modes. Concerning wear and tear, my observation in the power mode is that it is tame enough and the chip will prevent you from damaging anything. Like any car if you are ripping around corners you will wear out your suspension faster. I used to live in NH and literally " broke" my ball joints on an Audi S6 ( chipped and lowered of course) due to hard driving on the poor roads up there. But then that car was a different animal altogether than a Lexus and only felt smooth when going triple digits, and that is why I now drive a Lexus. ( That and I got tired of the standard $1000 dollar repair bill).

I feel so stupid today, so i changed oil and filter for my 06 gs 300, but when i put in the new filter , i did not look carefully to take out the plastic washer from old filer, so when i put in new oil, and start the car, new oil was ripping down from the filter the whole 5 qt of mobile 1 oil, i was so stupid i did it again, finally third time i noticed the old washer is still on the new filter that's why it's not seal completely when i put the new filter in,
so so so stupid, lol, waste $55 on 2 bottle mobile 5 qts.

Be thankful you just lost $55 instead of thousands to replace that engine. Ive learned if you factor the labor and cost, its much better to let the toyota dealer replace the oil. I look online for coupons and they charge 14 bucks for dino oil and 35 for synthetic. 30 min later my car is ready no fuss, and no headaches
