Cold starting = loud motor??
My '07 GS350 is new to me(bought it in early November). It does not get driven much but, I've noticed that when I first start it and drive it a few miles, the motor is incredibly noisy. Once it warms up, it seems to quiet down. Curious if that is the norm with these 3.5L motors or what? Mine has had the valve spring fix by the dealer before I bought it but, just seems real noisy at startup. It runs great just noisy...
Thanks,
Todd

It could be the Cam gears. I just complained about a noise at my 35k service and they replaced the Cam gears under warranty. I believe there was a TSB on it. Good luck.

I have an inside noise at the first startup of the day. It's a grinding sound when I press the start button - very annoying. It ends almost immediately, but it's very 'non-Lexus'.

How cold is it where you live OP? Anything below 40* F and the engine will rev high until the engine temp gets to 40% (between L and H). Rev high meaning about 1000-1100 RPMS while sitting at a light and 600 is normal.
