HELP! Screwed up while Changing spark plugs, now VSC and Check engine light are on
I finally had a few hours so I took a crack at changing out the plugs on my '09 GS350 AWD. follow the DIY tutorial found on this website. Got the 3 pass. side plugs changed easily enough. Went to work on the driver's side 3 and ran into problems.
The front driver's side plug (closest to headlight) was buried under the grey wire harness located right above it. I loosened some of the nuts holding the harness in place to give me enough space to get the plug tube and plug out. Got the plug tube out (barely), removed the old plug and inserted the new one. While putting the tube back into place, I used a bit too much force and pulled the two wires out of something. They're a green and red wires, and offshoot from the main wiring harness that runs right above the driver's side spark plugs.
After cursing- loudly- I pushed the wires back into the spaces they were torn from and said to hell with the two remaining plugs. Buttoned everything back up, and started the engine. Started easily, idles smoothly....and now the check engine light and VSC light are on. Never had a problem with them before.
Can I do a simple disconnect then reconnect of the battery to clear those lights? Or will they clear on their own after a bit of driving? Or have I just screwed myself royally? Also, what is controlled by those wires? I've attached pics; in the large pic I'm pointing directly at the two wires that were torn out. The wires are in place only because I pushed them back in.
Any advice is appreciated,
Chris

he didn't tear it, he completely pulled it out from the connector. This sounds a bit odd but a local audio shop redid my harness for me, it doesn't seem like you did much damage, just get it to an audio shop and have them solder on the wire back for you, you probably have a loose connection, causing your VSC/CEL light to go off.
