help :( want to buy a GS350 from the states and I live in Canada
and they say they can't sell me a new one, due to policies...
I was looking for a 07 GS350 AWD black in black with nav and acc. no ML, with all weather floor mats....
they say they can only sell me used ones.... so I'm thinking can anybody help me with this? I need to buy the car and get it to import into Canada and is interested in new car, not used.... unless someone can buy the car with me and sell it on his name than change the title to me right after so they can consider they sold the car to you and you sold it to me...? I need help!
the reason I'm buying it from the states is because the MRSP on a full load GS350AWD with ML is even cheaper than our Canadian base GS350AWD...
TIA

You do realize the warranty will not be honored in Canada if you are looking to have it serviced at your local dealer.

friend asked his uncle that works in one of the lexus dealerships here and said the warranty is ok, and my other friend saids it's whole north american warranty, just like if I travel to the states, but needing a service, I can do it in the states.... haven't got that confirm though... I still got to ask them myself.
Just finished calling, they said if there's something that they can't easily fix or diagnose, then I have to go back to the states, but for anything else, I can do it in Canada... now I just need to find a way to get the car.

I love buying cars and I'm an excellent negotiator....I would love to do it but I live all the way down in Florida. That's a long way to ship. I have 2 GS cars and I know I'll get a super deal on a 3rd (like I did on the second).
So if the distance doesn't bother you, I'll do it.

oookey... I was you 3 weeks ago debating what to do. I live in Vancouver and wanted to buy GS350 in US knowing for a fact that couple of my friends just bought theirs new toyotas. I went to Lexus of Seattle confident that Im gonna leave with new car. Sure...they told me Lexus doesnt allow this. Delema - buying slightly used one/demo or find the way to buy it asking my friends in US. Here... If someone in US buys a car he/she must pay state taxes... If you buy it as a canadian you DONT(9.1%). Bitter-sweet eh? You do the math, because it is still way less then paying insane price in Canada. Oh, I bought one - demo- 2000miles.

First phone Lexus USA and ask if they have a policy against selling a new car to Canadians, if they say they don't have such a policy ask them to email you this confirming that no such policy exists. Or you can email them asking them if they have such a policy. Once it is confirmed that the don't have such a policy then go to the dealership with the email and as for them to sell you a car if they refuse then contact Lexus USA from the dealership.
Another way is to go and buy the car from states that are farther away from the border which probably won't have such a policy if one does exist.
Don't worry about the warranty it is covered North America except that some of the American cars have options that are only available in the US then they will not be able to fix that in Canada.
good luck

Funny enough that Lexus of Seattle actually got a used/demo car in the exact configuration I wanted.
