3rd gen window tinting question--affecting the cars sensors?
Just wanted some feedback and to find out if anyone else has heard this.
I was talking to a guy with a 06 gs 300 for sale, I asked him if he has done anything to the car since he purchased it.
He told me he was going to get the windows tinted but the dealer told him not too. Apparently the dealer told him that tinting the windows could mess with some of the sensors in the car that deal with lighting, a/c, etc...
He said there are some sensors in back that point to the front and the tint could affect the way they perform...
Has anyone else heard anthing like this?

The only issues I've heard about stem from the use of metallic tint. A big no-no, since metallic tint may negatively impact the nav system.
I have solar guard 32% on the sides and 20% in the rear window. I haven't experienced any issues since the install, and its been well over a year.

I have 35% Madico tint all around..No problems at all
doesn't affect Nav or other controls/systems. Stay away from metalic is what I heard, but don't really know what it will affect.

i believe he is referring to the light sensor underneath the brakelight in the rear window area. i believe that is the sensor that will dim or lighten the glass on the dash. it's neat technology that will nearly eliminate any glare to your speedometer and such. i don't know the effect this will have on the sensor, but i'm sure that's what he is referring to.

Madico 30% Ceramic (MAC3000)
Great heat reflectivity and no Nav/stereo interferance..... It also has the cool "mirror" affect so there are always hot chick looking at the car to fix their hair, dress, skirt, etc. It's the best when i'm inside and they don't know! haha!!
That sounded very perv-y.... oh well...

Madico all around too
Like I mentioned a while back, I have AM radio reception issues that I noticed after getting the tint. However, I believe the problem was there before the tint job. Everything else works flawlessly (ie Nav, FM radio, etc.).

I had the same problem with the old Madico Titanium tint.... The ceramic is non-metalized so AM is clear as a whistle...
