The saga continues.....

Before I ordered wheels for the car, I asked my wife what style she liked. To my surprise, she said she preferred a full face chrome wheel. I asked why. She thought it was classy and reminded her of The Benz. My wife had a C280. I put chrome AMG Monoblocks on it and the car changed to another level. She wanted to duplicate that look. I don't prefer the full face look but I
don't dislike it either. Ishowed her pics of the Dolce DC12, pictured below, several times. She was sure that's what she wanted. Well, the wheels came yesterday and she hates them. Doesn't want them on the car. She said I could put them on if I wanted but she doesn't like them. This girl has learned too much from me. She asked me to take the wheels outside to line them up against the car. She hates them. She saw my frustration and told me to put them on but I know she hates them. What should I do? I'll probably send them back. Boy, I am getting sick of this.

LOL, you are a very nice hubby

i would show her the various pics on this forum of things she likes/dislikes and go from there. there are quite a lot of pics now too. i can imagine it's not easy (or cheap) to order wheels and then have to package them up again and send them back, so hopefully the pictures will help.

and no, i wouldn't just keep those if she hates them, b/c then you will never hear the end of it

you gotta send them back. Maybe you can have her pick out some wheels she likes and then have them PSed so she can get a really good idea of what it looks like. I hope you dont order another set of wheels and then she decides she doesnt like them again

Damn Reggie, hate to say I told you so but............. ok I wont rub it in!

Maybe the MRR styles will be a littel nicer for her, and cleaner too.

Here's a pic of the HR3 in 20" chrome on a LS430

I would send them back. Dont just settle you will regret it in the long run. I have seen a silver GS300 around town with those very same wheels on it. It doesnt do the car any justice. IMHO it cheapens the look of the car. You are a lucky man to have a wife like that. Iam lucky to even get my fiance to come outside and help wash the car!!! I envy you!!!!

Well, I'm done with this. We're just going to leave it stock, Save up for something really nice but wifey is happy with stock. She thinks it's classy as is. So, I'll send back the cheapo knock offs and start working on some cheapo something else for my next car.

As soon as my wife sees someone else's 3GS with a nice set of wheels, I'll bet she changes her mind.....just wait.

Check this....my wife sits with me last night and asked to see some fixed up GS's. I show her the modded 3GS thread. She's sitting there with her mouth open, oohing and ahhing about the wheels. Now she wants wheels for sure. But now she wants 18 because she wants to keep the smooth ride. She wants the fat tire set-up and doesn't care what everyone thinks. She hates riding in my lowered car but realized how much better the lowered GS looked. She said if I could guarantee no change in ride comfort, she would consider lowering. Then she says, it's your car too, do what you want.

Any smart, experienced husband knows that's a trap. If I do what I want and she doesn't like it, I'll hear about it for the rest of my married life. I'm still hearing about stuff I did wrong 10 years ago. I ain't that stupid.
I'll just keep showing her modded GS's.....let the cars do the talking. None can resist the pull of Moddedlexitis. An extremely virulent disease.

Sounds like your wife has good taste just like most women. There's nothing sexier than a women driving in a classy car with nice wheels.. the fat set up is great IMO. You have the best of both worlds. Comfortness and that look that we all achieve with our wheels.. Does she have the new 3 Gen GS? Sounds to me that you guys have some decisions to make.. Man its tough trying to decide on wheels.. Good Luck Reggie..
