I thought Lexus had already patened/registered the name "GS460" earlier.

Default This would be a very predictable CL Poll...

of course. I would like to see an IS460 for that matter. I wouldn't say it would be an Acuraesque failure as they don't have a V8 class sedan to begin with. You make the point MPLexus301 for Lexus executives when they can produce a Hybrid performance V6 that has equivalent passing power of a V8 and sips gas like a 4 cyl who will buy the V8?

It simply doesn't make sense...they'd be better off to stop making it all together and just sell the GS 350 and GS 450h, and not having a V8 in this segment would be a very Acura-esque thing to do, read : FAILURE. They already have the "GS 460" name trademarked anyway.

So I guess the final lineup will be ~306HP GS 350, ~335HP GS 450h, ~380HP GS 460?
I think that's the reason why they are adjusting the line up and offering the GS350, and GS460 to rid the overlap in the current powertrain offerings. It's only speculation that we're getting the GS350...it's all hearsay until Lexus actually does a full press release. Lexus isn't in a position to make failures...as in their 16 year history, they've done nothing but create benchmarks and blow the competition out of the water in their corresponding segments. When i'm back in the market for a new car...i'll overlook the 450h in favor of the V8 that's for sure.

I would also pick the GS460 over the GS450h.
At this stage, hybrid vehicles are not for me (yet)

Acura figured that offering a V6 with V8 like power would be perfect for the RL. That's hardly been the case.

Default Aux Input

I hope the GS350 has an AUX Input. Apparently the '07 BMW 5 series will get one...

Will the 2006 Lexus GS 300's engine be put into the 2007 Lexus IS once the GS gets the new engines?

For everyday driving, I would say the GS300 because of the fuel economy. That said, if I were still living in Seattle, I would probably lean toward the GS430 for the added power of the V8 that is useful for freeway driving along I-5. The GS350 is supposed to be out soon (the subject of this thread) and looks to have about the same HP as the GS430. In Hawaii, the 245hp of the GS300 is more than enough for me. I barely even get to stretch the legs of my car as it is right now! I do enjoy 26-28 mpg though which is a HUGE improvement over the 16 mpg that I got with my old 4Runner.
