I got both my wife and myself the new Moto 815. It works like a charm. I love it.
No problems at all, it syncs as soon as I turn on the car.
But of course, can't download phonebook. I'm gonna borrow my bro's cingular phone and try it.

Has anyone done this?
Has anyone downloaded their cellular phonebook into their laptop
then used the laptop (with bluetooth) to load the PB into their Lexus?
I can sync my Motorola Razr with my lappy using BlueTooth and also
download/backup my phonebook on my lappy. Just wondering if I
could then download my entire phonebook into the Lex with it.

I have an 05 GX and I had to use a Moto V600 to load my contacts into the phonebook. Once you have the contacts loaded, you can use the phonebook and 1-touch dial with the V710. The E815 works like the V710. In the BMW bluetooth kit, the E815 works great, you can voice dial from the car, the phonebook transfers with this OPP protocol, and incoming calls ring. I really like the voice dialing feature of the BMW kit. . . .

Can someone school me on this whole bluetooth phone + GS3 thing? I know nothing about it. My wife and I use Verizon. If I get the V710 and I get into my car (without Nav/voice control), will the car "sense" it and "connect" wth it? If I can't transfer numbers, do I just manually enter them into the car's system?

GS300's all have Bluetooth...
but the Verizon phones Motorola V710 and 815 do have some issues as pertains to the phonebook transfer. The one touch dial locations can be manually added by making a call and then using the call log to import the phone number into the one touch locations 1 to-5 and 7to-18. When you are moving the one touch screen buttons will go blank but will still be functioning. The main advantage to having the one touch dials imported from the phone book is that the name of the phone number will still be lit while driving. If you can find another bluetooth phone that allows phone book transfer it can be used as a proxy to get the most used numbers into the car's phonebook. Then you can import them into one touch and you can use those often used numbers from the one touch listing. Motorola phones that do transfer numbers require that you send them one at a time which is a pain also. Lastly, never "overwrite" to the phonebook as all of your previous entries will be erased! Always "Add"..........

If you can find a Bluetooth phone that will transfer contacts to the phonebook, then you can use the V710 or the E815 to dial from the phonebook or 1-touch dial when the car is in motion. I wish the Lexus system was like the BMW module which allows my Verizon e815 to synch my phone contacts to the car as well as voice dial while the car is in motion.
