Default Lexus GS4 vs BMW750il

Have anybody drove BMW 750il? How did you like V12 engine in that car. Would you trade your `98-`00 GS400 for a 95-98 V12 BMW?

Default Completely different cars

You can't make a comparison of these 2 cars without making some sort of concession from one to the other. You need to figure out what you are trying to achieve. The more correct comparison would be 7series with LS, 5 Series with GS.

I know know about the 95-98 thats TOOO old , better save up for a newer one, but yeah i got to drive a either 00 or 01 750 and yeah it was fast as hell, i took it up to 130 very quickly, handles like a much smaller car too, i enjoyed it., and the roominess is nice too.

Yeah its faster than a GS400.

You'd better have DEEEP DEEEP pockets to handle the maintenance on a 95-98 750iL. Other than that, cool car. Luxo barge, but very fast.

I will keep my GS. Reliablility is a more important to me than extra four cyclinders and German nameplate. In addition, 750il is a bigger car and more money than a GS400.

I would not trade-in my GS for a 95-98 BMW 750i. If this means that the BMW was built in '95. I would expect that there will be many small, but very expensive repairs/maintenance required. The car itself could be ok, but always expect that maintenance intervals need to be followed.
By the way, personally I think that the old 7-series look too much as an old man's car, especially with its very square design.

Why settle for one when you can have both?

I always get suspicious when I go on eBay and see 1997 750s for $18K, but the M3s are still going for $21K. Why would a $100K car depreciate so fast? Like Bit suggested, do people not want to pay the maintenence costs? As a former BMW owner, I know that the dealer charges by the cylinder for the "Inspection I/II" (BMW's name for scheduled maintenance).

I'd get the 750, but only if you can stomach the upkeep.

The 750 is a nightmare to keep up with for reliability factor. They all between the years mentioned one way or another **** the bed before 100k on the ODO. Be careful if you are serious and make sure that the car is checked out by an experience BMW mechanic.
