Default 1999 gs300 bank 1 sensor 1, bank 2 sensor 1 replacement

Just got quoted $970.00 plus tax from the Lexus dealer to replace my engine warning light. Bank 1 Sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 1 need replacement. Can anyone help with part numbers, links, pics, videos, on how to replace. I am mechanically inclined and have worked on my 2000 7 series BMW many times. Can't be any harder than working on a beemer!!

please help

Mark

Sounds more like they're charging you to replace a cat converter. Where is the $970 going towards? If you're inclined, you should know its just a matter of unscrewing and unplugging the sensor and reverse to install, that seems just too damn high! What does the invoice estimate say?

Well then again... OE Sensors ARE like $300 a pop. I suggest going to a parts store, shouldnt cost more than $150 for one and about $65 for the other. And do yourself. My 2 cents

BTW, welcome to Club Lexus... You made a great choice

Is this bank1 sensor 1 and 2 location? These two are connected on the first 3 pipes coming off manifold...
Bank 2 sensor 1 location? Coming off second set of 3 manifold pipes, very close to rear of engine compartment

Well you should probably start off by telling us which codes are being thrown exactly. Those are O2 sensors pictured but if your car is throwing codes like p0325 and p0330 then it is referring to the Knock sensors. Ive seen people get quoted around $900 just to have one of them replaced so your quote might be ok if its for both. However people have purchased oem sensors and replaced them themselves but it requires taking off the intake manifold or something.
