Default School me on GS400 muffler delete

Been searching and watching YouTube for a few hours. I like the way it sounds with the two rearmost mufflers removed. Just a little bump in volume and a nice smooth rumble.

Biggest questions for those who have done just the muffler delete: How bad is the drone? I read it occurs between 2k and 3k RPM. Since I'm going to be doing 90% freeway driving with my GS400 I don't like the possibility of annoying drone.

Another question regarding back pressure. I didn't see a definitive answer during searching, but does removing those mufflers cause a loss of torque due to reduced back pressure?

And of course, anyone see a noticeable MPG boost from muffler deleting?

i've been tinkering with my exhaust set up a lot recently and i've noticed a significant loss in torque after deleting the resonators and mufflers. I also wouldn't say it attributed to it "being all in my head," it was definitely noticeable. I drove around without resonators or mufflers for a good 2 months and loved it, but it did get a bit tiring after a while when driving around the city. If you're mostly doing highway commuting then it shouldn't be too bad, deleting all the resonators and keeping the mufflers is best IMO but some would argue there's hardly a difference. You could always go with cutouts and have the best of both worlds too which is what i'm considering now.

I wonder if using smaller straight pipe when deleting the mufflers would eliminate torque loss. Like 2.25 or 2".

I would say start with deleting the resonators right before the mufflers. I did this on my 2001 GS3 when I had it and it sounded pretty good. I also had RMM mufflers so I'm not sure how it would sound with the stock mufflers.
