Default sway bar bushes fix!

Gidday, this may be no knew news to you, but I just fixed my horrible clunking sway mounting bush problem by simply removing them and replacing them on opposite sides. No noise! I figure that they were worn unevenly so that this tightened them up. Its no doubt a short term fix, but here in New Zealand where its a bit of a hassle to get new ones and are not cheap, and after market ones are even more difficult , if not impossible, its solved an issue for a while. I haven't owned this car for long but absolutely love it. 1998 GS 300. I commute 70kms a day on the open road (speed limit 100km hr)and love the journey. It makes travelling to work something i look forward to. Ive got so much info from this site regards to maintenance etc and am very grateful.

thats cool, my car has been making a clunking sound ever since I did ball joints. I wonder if my bushings need replacements, as we were smacking some stuff pretty hard to get the old joints loose. I'll probably try to do this after next winter. Those stock bushings are going on 13 years now, they gotta be weathering and cracking as the car came originally from CA, and now is in a colder climate in CO.

I do also look forward to my commutes, as I picked a job that had a highway commute for better gas mileage, less wear and tear and more enjoyment. lol!

On my old 2GS I replaced all 4 away bar bushings, and it made a huge difference, so much smoother going over bumps, really cheap and easy to do too.
