Default Chugging and no start- 1999 GS400

Hi Guys, first post on my first lexus. picked this up and its been great. drove from SLC to Vegas over the weekend. drove fine till i was 2 minutes from home. Started sputtering, chugging. made it home. started a few times with real low idle, chugging. then would not start anymore. Fuel pump?
Help please and TIA.

1999 GS400, 243000 miles. runs like new, except for this.

Do you have CEL on? Also make sure you actually have fuel in the tank. Sometimes the fuel gauge could not be working correctly.

No CEL, it come on with all the lights, then goes off. tank reads 1/2 full. have driven it from F to gas light on, so that was working a few days ago. going to Ohm check the pump when I get home tonight

so it was a fuel pump. I had voltage to clip. I tested pump for resistance, it started within range but I could not hear it do anything (didnt know how quiet it should be) then i tested again for resistance and it read at 54 ohms. so I ordered a new one. got a denso pump, and a beckley fuel filter pump from amazon. took about 1.5 hours to remove, change and reinstall. runs like a dream again. Did i mention this baby has 242000 miles on it

So happy to hear this worked out!
I'm at 201k so looks like we're finding the limit on these original fuel pumps, senders etc
