Have a friend with a 2001 gs430 and the hedlights stay on when the car has been turned off. It drains the battery and battery has to be disconnected in order for it not to be drained. Wanted to know if anybody has/had this issue and or had it fixed/possible solutions. Read somewhere it maybe the door pins/sensors not working and makes the car think someone is still in the car/hasn't exited and hence the lights stay on. if anyone has had this problem or knowledge of it please chime in. Thanks in advance

see if the lights turn off when the lock button is pushed twice. and do the lights stay on even if the headlight switch is in the off position?

I would also try to manually lock the doors.

I say check the relay. May be stuck in the on position.


Need more info. Can you shut them off with the switch?

Open the doors one at a time and manually press the pin switch. Aftr that close all doors lock the vehicle with the remote go to the back of the vehicle lean on the trunk and c if the door light would go out or flicker.

Try this to turn the lights off lock the doors and press down on the trunk and wait to c if it does the trick. If it does adjust the lock or switch.

After closing the vehicle check if the alarm is setting. If its not setting open and close the trunk or press on the trunk for awhile to c if the alarm would set. Then the light should go out.

Just check out the system.look like your problem is the drl relay.
