Hey Guys / Gals,
Been a bit since I've been on here. My wife's 99 GS300 went to the screetching from the dash with Brake / ABS / VSC lights on yesterday. I was able to drive it home a few miles for her with no brake boost. Today I got a used MC / ABS unit for $450 from the closest guy on CL parting one out. I put it on and left the battery disconnected for 15 minutes but it still screetches and lights up the dash.

Is there a way I can reset the ECU myself or do I need a special computer?

The screeching sound is because the motor is probably bad on the unit you just bought.

Yea, the "new" one is probably bad. Ouch.
I'd try to get your money back.
Was it from a +01 GS?
