Yes i know this question has probably been asked and posted a million times but here it goes again. I have an 01 GS430 with factory GPS and as you know the HVAC controls are done through the GPS touch screen (I dread the day the touch screen stops working). Now from what I understand if you replace the factory GPS you lose the HVAC controls. Has anyone found a solution for this or is there any GPS that now has the factory HVAC controls built in?

Yeah... you replace it with an HVAC from a non-navigation 2GS. Then, use whatever aftermarket head unit you want. If you search it's been covered numerous times.

Sounds like a lot of work. How do you replace the hvac? Do you mind sending me a link of this thread I have never heard about this one...

You unplug the hvac wires from the back of the nav and plug them into a non-nav GS hvac controls. Couldn't be easier. The pinouts may be different between the years so try and get hvac controls for your year.
