Default 100w hids?

Anyone tried these things out?

More specifically the q45 projector guys (or anyone with projectors) I've never heard of big projectors getting uv burn. But I realize the bigger bowls dissipate heat better

Just wanna know the results

Your stock wiring is not designed to handle that much current.

If you're doing a retrofit, you won't need 100W bulbs/ballasts. Also, at that wattage you're going to run through bulbs (QUALITY bulbs i.e. Philips or Osram) as most are rated for 35W. Trust me, once you retrofit you'll realize how garbage our stock headlights are.

Overkill... just by quality products and you won't have to compensate by increasing watts. Retrofitted setups are perfect at 35 watts.

100 watts your will change the color temp of the same 5000k bulb running at 35 watts... and your HID bulbs will not last as long.

I got UV burn on my stock headlights now from running 55W ballasts on OEM Phillips bulbs.

My retro has been done. Stock 35s are weak in the q45s

Angus don't you have a retro as well? Got pics if the burn?

Yeah, the stock bulbs are ok at best, also how old are they as they could be due for changing. I swapped to Osram Xenarc Night Breakers and love them, although they're not the cool blue color that most seem to prefer. But, they do make the CBIs and Philips make the Xtreme Vision which are both around 5000K; all of which are better than stock.

Gotcha. I should just swap in the bulbs I have laying around.

I'm not into the blue either . 4300k only for the headlights.

55w watts already have the potential of melting housings. I definitely wouldn't recommend 100w.
