Default Clicking/popping sound issue

I have a 01 gs300. Notice the passenger front is making a clicking/popping sound when I brake. I can feel it in my brake peddle also. Took it to les swab and they said they couldnt find anything wrong. Also notice when it rains, this issue goes aways. But when it stop raining it would come back. The sound/feeling is becoming more often. Please give fed back. Thanks

Based on what little info there is to go on... I'd guess new front brake pads, and possibly new rotors. Make sure you use the fit kit (search it for more info). Next guess depending on miles, lower ball joints, or upper control arms.

But if you're feeling it in the brake pedal....start with the brakes.

I'd stop driving until I was 100% sure it wasn't an LBJ issue if I were you.

Your bushings may be wearing down. Check on those.

Since you say it happens when you brake, I would say it's most likely the brake clips (brake hardware/fitment kit).

If it's just a little click, and most of the time when you are changing direction for the first time (fwd<-> rev) this is normal for the Toyota design.

But when you do your next brake job, you should also use new brake hardware, and make sure you or your mechanic have properly lubricated the correct points on the brake clip system.

Sewell has the OEM ones as one of the common service items for 2GS, but you can also get the less expensive 3rd party ones.

I have the same problem...whenever I brake it makes a one click noise on the front brakes. I went to my local shop and they said that everything was fine. Where can I purchase the "Kit"?

either from sewell, if you want OEM as "fitment kit" and is under the quick pick service items.

Or from any parts store, it will be under "brake hardware" kit (e.g. rockauto).

They are right in that everything is fine in terms of safety and part of normal brake operation for this design, it is just acoustically cosmetic. It is the same labor as a complete brake pad job, so you might want to postpone until you want to do that maintenance, or bite the bullet and just get new pads early.
