on top of that
HID/auto leveling factory equipped headlights use the D series bulbs if i remember?
NON-HID is a 9006 bulb.
you will either have to purchase a aftermarket 9006 hid kit or new harness for a 9006 if you want to continue using hid's. if not pop a set of 9006 in there and you are set to go.

I have, but not to regular bulbs. I got a GS400 with the OEM factory hid, swapped it for the non-hid oem head lights with a ls430 projector retro fit. All i did was keep my old ballast and put it into the non-hid oem head lights and placed the ballast some where it wont move. I've tried to take the auto-leveling parts from my original head lights and put it into the non-hid head lights, everything will mount up, but you need to rig it some how to fit. The non-hid head lights already have the templates to mount the auto-levelers. The reason why i couldn't get it to work was one of the plugs were plugged into the oem hidhead light itself, and i didnt bother taking it off, didn't want to risk damaging the head light.

doesn't take much, maybe a splice in for neg and pos wiring but you still have to have d-series bulb because of the housing unless you go with non hid housing which will require 9006 bulbs. This day and age you can pretty much find any color bulbs to mate up with the oem hid fitting so why go aftermarket when and if your ballast is in perfect working condition minus the clutter of the aftermarket?

I was asking because I have had to replace my ballast once before. So I was asking for future reference In case they go bad again. Also because I want new headlights and can get brand new head lights for a good price but they are non hid. So I was thinking maybe it would be worth it to buy those headlights and switch to non HID. just a thought. Most likely wont do it since I do have some new bulbs to try out for the oem HID's.
