Default Control Arms or Bushings?

What up fellas, I just had my 99 GS300 serviced last week and the tech noted:

-Front upper control arms are getting weak and the right front makes banging noise

-Lower control arm bushing are dry and rotting badly

I understand that I could purchase these bushings http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...id=86740&all=Y
but I am not sure if they are for both the lower and upper control arms or just the lower. To take care of the above issues would I need to replace the upper control arms also or would the bushings suffice?

I do hear the banging noise when going over bumps and stuff. What would you all recommend?

Thanks.

the bushing kit is for the upper and lower control arms, basically every bushing in the front suspension geometry. unless your bushings are as bad as they described to be, going through bumps w/ worn out bushings shouldn't cause a loud bump everytime. inspect the ball joints as well.

ball joints and tie rods were done about 12 months ago. At what point would I need to consider replacing the upper control arms? I heard that there is never a need to do that since the only part that goes wrong is the rubber bushings.

if the stud freely moves without any resistance, or if the stud is stripped, then it is best to replace it. Upper ball joint would be the last thing i would check on my list. I would just do the bushings first and see if the problem still exist. Might want to check to see if any nut in your front suspension is loose as well.
