Tire Cupping - Inner Tire Wear HELP!!! PICS
Hey,
I have searched the forums for Cmaber kits (like RCA, ect) but I still haven't found something that will fix my problem.
Problem: Front Inner Tire wear. This time it was somewhat a curved inned wear, like a quarter pipe (instead of a straight angle wear).
My Setup:
Ibach Springs (1.5" drop i think)
Bilstein Sport Shocks (just got these put in 4 months ago, was using stock shocks before that)
18" rims (tire size225/40/18")
How can i fix this? I have gotten a lot of alignments and keep going through tires.

The camber I was at last time was about 0.9% camber on the front left (the tire that is worn) and 0.3% on the front right.
The PSI i have on my 225/40/18 tires is 33-34psi. (it hasnt gone below 30psi when i've checked, but i normally try to keep it around33-34psi).

What is your Toe at on the alignment printout? Camber is going to gradually wear the tire unless you are running extreme camber (lifting the outside of the tire status). The convex style of wear would have more to do with the belt edge and sidewall construction.
Cupping is a different condition where most commonly the tread angles back in early stages and then begins to deform greatly if unchecked.

If you are only on springs, I would probably take it back to the alignment shop and have them push down on your car and see how the suspension read outs react. As you drive and the suspension loads and unloads, more than just camber will change with the angle of the suspension arms. So perhaps its only an issue when the suspension is loaded, and the tires toe outward and scrub the inside very hard? What allignment shop are you taking it to? This is where the midas style places lose their touch and you're better off taking it to a quality shop.

mild drop....major camber problem...looks like an alignment issue.
SS (RCA) kit won't help in this case since your on springs/shock setup. you need coilovers to adjust back up to compensate for the SS kit drop.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the responses.
I took it to a tire shop (Tire Pros), they have done pretty much all my alignments. They gave me a printout of my alignment and everything was in the green (i'll get it tomorrow and post the stats). They said when i took it back that it wasn't much adjustment needed. But i always seem to have this inner wear problem.
My car has 120K miles on it.
Do you think this is a Bushing problem then?
Thanks again for all the help!
