How to remove OEM trunk spoiler?
I did a quick search and didn't find what I was looking for.
Does anyone know how to remove the OEM spoiler? I know all about the brackets and the holes. I just want to take off the spoiler to clean something up on the underside. Thanks.

to remove it, you'll have to take out the 2 panels on the side bottom of the spoiler that sticks out, just pry it off, it's on with a Velcro tape...
then you'll see the 2 bolts on each side. 10 or 12mm I think.. don't remember which.... but you'll also have to disconnect the spoiler brake light, there should be a clip somewhere on the left, I didn't take the spoiler completely off thus I don't know exactly, but most likely after you pull the spoiler up a bit, you will be able to pull the wire and clip out then disconnect it.

Thanks guys.
Hmm . . . that's not as easy as I thought it would be. I need to get to the underside of the spoiler to remove the long rectangular cover that spans basically the entire width of the underside of the spoiler. It is rusting terribly, and whenever it rains or whenever I wash my car, the rusty water run-off gets onto my trunk and leaves rusty water spots.
I wonder if it would be easier to get to that cover by removing the third brake light. What do you guys think?

Here's the thread I started about the rust problem:

If I could just figure out how to get that cover off without removing the spoiler (and without breaking anything), I'd be set. It looks like it's held in place by plastic clips/covers at each end, and it looks like they just pop right off, but I'm not sure.
