3UZ.. yeah I got the same kinda suggestions from folks that have never done a DIY about one of the first DIYs that I did. Kinda makes you wonder why don't they go work for Toyota. If they send out a TSB with all this work when all these guys can second guess them and you, they need to go to work for them.

I think they miss the point about a DIY especially when it is done by the TSB.. It takes a lot of time to put one of these together.. and in your case time was COLD..

Your write up is the clear and concise way to do something Not hoping something comes out but, knowing that you can get your tool on it at the right angle. It should not depend on the size of your hand if you can get something out.

I like your DIY..

Here is my DIY I did as per the TSB and there where several do gooders that said they would do it like this and like that. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=289839

I'm wondering if there are any sure fire ways to identify whether any particular front end wind noise problems are in fact the rear view mirrors and not something else that may be mistaken for rear view mirrors?

Step 7 - Remove 4 screws with phillips screwdriver

Step 8 - Pop this little black click up from around the mirror

Step 9 - Pop all plastic clips around door, and pull up and out on the back of the door, by the lock assembly, not the best picture but this is where i pulled up...

Step 10 - Backside of the door, disconnect the speaker, light, lock, connectors as well as the door and lock actuator cables... tried to be as clear as possible...
