Default Drifters Chime in!

Hey guys been lurking a while on here for a while and thought it would be cool to see who all on here drifts their GS and what they have done. Also post up your Instagram if you got one, need some more drifter / GS ppl to follow haha.

This is my 2000 GS300. Mods are mainly suspension and manual swap. Suspension is 20k/18k BC coils, Battle Version control arms, Battle Version angle kit w/ inner and outer tie rods, and Battle Version solid diff bushings. Swapped a CD009 trans in using the Collins Kit and I have nothing but great things to say. It is 1000000% worth the money if you're looking to do this: drop in, no fuss, and everything works great! Other than that just have a racing seat, some fender flares to eliminate rubbing with the angle, and a welded diff.

yeh thats what really has me thinking. im up in the air on just slapping a cd009 to the 1uz, 2j again with cd009, or ls motor swap.....cost to future upgrade ratio and enjoyment all weigh heavily. lol. alot of variables as well. all in due time, i guess.

Post a link and I'll check it out! I was gonna do a build thread but somewhere along the lines of doing the manual swap I lost the patience of having to take my gloves off everytime I wanted to snap a pic haha. I got a few "how to's" I plan on posting up about box welding a Lexus diff and installing and wiring schematics for the A/T emulator. I suppose I'll get around to it one of these days, too busy spending all my free time working on the car

Edit: I'll just go find the build thread in your stats lol sorry for being a fail

He's not joking on that one, the Collins kit is over 3k for the full conversion kit but lemme tell you it is worth every penny

What motor do you currently have? Aka is yours a 300, 400, or 430? If its a 300 I would save the money and go for an R154 since it bolts up to the motor and is somewhat simple. Plus clutch kits and finding parts is a little easier since its not one off custom parts.

in my unfortuante circumstance i have the 1uz gs400. that was my initial thought was if i ended up buying a 300 i was gonna do the 2j, but if i ended up with the 400 i would keep it v8 and either work the stock motor over or ls swap it, and after alot of research im leaning more towards ls swap due to cost. Like you said the collins setup looks awesome but at that price i can probably get an ls swap on the floor, then all the money i would spend trying to make ok ish power on the 1uz would probably be equal to what i would be into the rest of the needs for the install on the swap. starting really to think about just stock aristo swap with bolt ons and try to be happy for a while.

TheNiceAzn is my IG name. 2jzgte is the better choice, you have more options to add power down the road. 1uz is more pricey to mod than 2jzgte.
