Default to buy or not to buy?

Hey Guys,

I have an opportunity to buy a 2002 GS430 with 54,XXX miles on it for $23,000 + taxes and fees. It's Millenium Silver/Black interior. Nav and ML. It is missing the ML sub as the previous owner had aftermarket subs in there.

I work at a local Lexus dealership and they pre-owned managers told me that if I can get it for 21,000 it would be a nice deal. They would bid it at $18,000 as a trade. Retail on this would be around $26,500.

My only thing is whether or not to part with my 2002 CERTIFIED GS300 sport design. If it's worth the trouble just to get into a V-8. Should I just wait for the 2007 to come off of lease so I can pick one of those up for a decent price? *SIGH* what to do, what to do.....

Just basicly looking for input from my CL brothers. I know that the 430 is nice to have, plus, the gas mileage would be about the same, if I was not a total lead foot.

Let me know what you guys think.....

Thanks,

Homer

BTW, if anyone wants a low mileage 02 GS300 Sport Design for $24,000, shoot me a PM. HAHAHA!

wait for a 07 lease return (hopefully from some old lady) and pick that up. this way, you're ahead of the game... a bit.

Wait for the lease return...

I know what its like having an itchy finger. I found the EXACT car I would have ordered new and it sold the evening before I had the resources. Now... its waiting time for me... That is unless this person is going to trade it for 18 if you don't buy it, then just get it from your dealership if they will give it to you for what they paid.

Oh I know that!! I'm used to a V-8, i had an LS400 before this and a 12 sec Mustang before THAT. So I do miss the power, but on the OTHER hand, it's not very practical for me to lose the money that I've put into my SD. My SD is SOOO clean. Just wished it was faster.....

I know the right thing to do is to just hold on to my car, but man, EVERYTIME I see a 430, I'm like !! HAHA!

This itchy finger is driving me nuts. I'll see in a few days, if that guy calls and asks if I want it, I'll offer 21K and deal with it from there.

Thanks guys!

Homer

I know the GS350 would be a nice next car, but WHAT ABOUT NOW???

Nice to see a fellow Texas lexus owner. I have a solution for you . . . There is a local guy selling a turbo kit for the GS300. That would be your solution until you can get the 07 GS430 off lease. Let me know if you are interested and I'll give you the link. Good luck!

Hey Sceptre,

I'm heading up there this Sat night. We (my fiance and I) are craving rudy's BBQ. PM me the link. Is he asking a bunch for it? Does it include EVERYTHING needed?

Thanks,

Homer

Go to Houston's for their Prime Rib. I personally think it's the best. Goto the one on westheimer and fountain view.

Get the 430 for 22k thats still a great deal! Great color combo too some people wait 2-20 months without finding thier ideal color scheme. 54k miles isn't too bad as long as the vehicle was well maintained i think thats where the most importance lies.
