Replacing the Starter - Price quote estimate incorrect?
Hey,
I've been reading up on the starter problems that other owners encounter and the price quotes they get to replace the starter including labor and tax and people have been stating its around 900-1200 dollars. I just called a lexus dealership and they quoted me 300 for the starter and 180 something for labor. So the total comes out to less than 500. Am I missing something here? Or are those price quotes mainly for the gs400's, and its harder to get to the starters on those models and thus the higher price estimate? I have a 99 gs300. If someone has done this before for a gs300, can you please reply? thanks!!!!

Higher labor is for GS400, due to accessability issue.
