Yellow Fogs.

Yellow Fogs.
The fogs in my GS have a yellow enclosure around the bulb, so they make a nice looking yellow. However, I want to go with blue headlights all the way across, so I need a fog light enclosure that doesn't have the yellow filament around the bulb. Would anyone be interested in doing a trade, or does anyone know where to get a fog kit without the yellow? Thanks!

When I first bought my 430 I wanted to swap out the yellow fogs for clear. Then I found a poll on CL about this and most people that had yellow kept them yellow. The yellow indicates that you are driving either a 400 or 430. If you go clear, you will look like a 300. If that doesn't matter to you then go with the clears and do an HID kit in them to match your headlights. That looks great.

I have a '98 GS4 with factory HIDs. Originally had yellow fogs but switched them to clear. Also did the fog light mod & converted my fogs to HID. I like this set up better. Just my $0.02. Btw, Yellow fogs came with HIDs, & HIDs were an option on the 2GS3. So having clear fogs does not mean you have a GS3.

Yellow Fogs.
Hey Tex. Are you sure? Doesn't sound like it!
I have been working as a Lexus Master Certified Tech since 1992. And I can definately tell you that if the car came with HIDs from the factory, it will DEFINATELY have yellow fogs, doesn't matter if it was a 2GS3 or 2GS4. Now, if the previous owner swapped it to clear is another story.

Thanks for the advice, but when I did the fog light mod, where you can turn the fogs on without turning the headlights on, the yellows were not bright enough. So I switched to clear HID. I love this set up and will not go any other route. This set up is perfect, just bright enough without blinding oncoming traffic.

yellow overlays on your fog light housing...
basically yellow tint on the clear lens. the only problem is that it will look yellow even with your lights off. the factory yellow fogs and a 3000k HID kit will hide the yellow within the housing.
everything has it's pros/cons...
