need pricing estimate - '99 GS4
Have a co-workers spouse that may be selling a '99 GS4. I checked online (Edmunds and KBB as well as autotrader), but got some wildly differing numbers. The pictures I've seen show it to be an exceptionally clean car. I'm really not in the market for a replacement DD, but if it can be had for a reasonable #, I may pick it up. I have asked what he wants for it, but wanted to get a better guestimate as the online numbers I've seen are all over the place. Private party estimates were anywhere from $15.3k to $19.4k.
- 1999 GS400
- Black/Tan
- 56k miles
- 2nd owner, all records w/ all service done at dealership.
- Nav, Premium Audio (not Nak), heated seats, cd changer, moonroof, 17" non-chrome wheels, rear spoiler, mats, wheel locks, and HID. It looks like the only boxes not ticked were the Nak audio and the chrome wheels.
- only "flaws" I can spot from the pictures are mismatched tires F to R and the impending 60k service. On the tires - F has Pilot Sports and the R are (look to be new) Nero Zeros.
Any ideas what a realistic number should be on this? I'm located in Atlanta, GA. Thanks for any guidance - I've been on CL for a number of years since my wife bought a used SC4 in '98. I spent the weekend going through the last few months of posts on the 2nd Gen GS board.

I think the car's price should be at the middle to the lower end of your range. I think about 16K give or take a few hundred dollars should be about right. The 60k service if you were continued to use the dealership for service, would cost about $900. Just my opinion.

I think Edmunds is more realistic, though if demand is high in your area they can bee a bit low. I also recommend looking at Craig's List for a relevant comparison.
My gut tells me the lower range is more appropriate.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Since I'm not really "in the market", I don't have a problem taking a pass on it if its not a good deal. I should have his number along with a chance to see and drive the car later this week. If it works out, I'll be sure to post back.
Again, thanks for the responses.
