I wonder if you set the trunk tension if it would pop up

read this and see if it helps

ever consider somehow having a gas shock (like found in the front that holds the hood up) attached somehow that might push it up, on a hinge maybe?

you may try trunk spring which equip for car with rear spoiler from factory and adjust to the max position. It will help alot.

Do you have a spoiler on your car? It's pretty damn heavy. I wonder if any spoilerless GSes have trunks that maybe pop up a bit easier.

no, no spoiler, but i just went and checked and the rod was in the slot allthe way towards teh front of the car, so i moved it towards the back and it now pops up 2 more inches but still needs alot of tension to pop it up allthe way so i need to get the one for the trunk with a spoiler

oh no someone said "pimp" ... now all i can think of is that damn "pimp my ride" show... or maybe monster garage... next thing we'll see is hydros, flamethrowers, fold out vanity mirrors just to make the trunk lid open more than 1 inch

I had the same problem. Tried loading stuff in the trunk that requires 2 hands and the trunk comes crashing down on my head!

Then I found that DIY fix and moved the tension bars, and VOILA!!! It stays up!

Hope you didn't spend the money yet. Try this fix first.
