1993 gs300 wont start
Ok so my friend bought a 93 gs300 that had been sitting for awhile but cranked right up and drove fine for a few weeks. One day after stopping to get breakfast the car started but ran very ruff. After trying to limp it home we opened the hood to see the catalytic converter glowing. Immediately the car wouldn't start back. Thinking the cat was blocked he had it gutted and still nothing. Disheartened he gave the car to me. Now when I went to check for spark I noticed the valve cover was standing full of water. (Heater hose going to the head burst). Now it sounds like it's trying to hit but olny on a few cylinders? Just trying to get some ideas here.

Sounds like you have water on the spark plugs. I would remove the boot from the back sparkplug and look for water around the spark plug . Check all the plugs you can get to. If there is water around the spark plug it will ground the spark plug out and not fire. I had this happen when I washed the engine bay like an idiot . Just pull the plug wires you can get off and blow air in there from a compressor. Don't forget which spark plug wires go where . Hope this helps

All the spark plug galleys are connected . So make sure you have all the water out of the galleys . You may have . If you didn't pull the throttle body off you may have blown water in the 2 spark plug galleys under there. Also if you are goin to change the spark plugs you should replace the wires because of the two under the throttle body. If you have time maybe change the rotor button also its inexpensive and pretty easy to replace. When I replaced my wires and plugs I didn't remove the throttle body completly I unbolted it and slid it toward the passender side to get access under it . For sure just be carefully and replace the wires/ plugs one at a time to not mess up the firing order . Hope you can get it goin . How many miles on your gs300? I'm about to flip 280,000 miles.

And as far as millage I'm at 217k. But the car was well maintained by the Lexus dealership by the 2 previous owners (also friends of mine)
