Starter Replacement GS300 Solved!
I couldn't find this information searching and I couldn't find a good place to post it so I'll just start it here.
I don't have a set of knuckle sockets for the 14 mm bolts and boy they are stuck way up in there. I found a solution that I though I would share.
I DO have a long 1/2" Socket extension it's about 2 1/2 feet. If you look behind the starter there is a huge crack between the transmission and fire wall. If you take a long extension with a knuckle socket attached to a 14mm socket this is a cinch. I was able to pop it first try and get the top bolt out.
The bottom one is not too bad. You should be able to figure that one out.
I did this ALONE. Just took the top one loose and left it stuck up in there. Then the wires one plug and another to the battery and then get that bottom bolt and let it fall out. Also take out the 10mm bolt holding those fuel lines cuz you have to do a dance to get that thing out once its fallen off. Now just reverse the process.
Total time 1hour 15 mins. Disco!
