Car shakes at Highway speeds
#33
i can tell yall from my experience that this "swaying", "shaking", and "side to side" motion is from having bad front lower control arm bushings... that would be the #2 arm or "caster arm", "strut rod". i have had all these problems with my gs300. i am 95% sure this would fix the problems your having. you can get the arm for about 120 a piece or buy the bushings for both sides on ebay for 70 shipped.

I would like to see the final solution for this problem. I'm having the same issue, i though it was my tires, then I balanced the wheels too and its still shaking at high speeds. I was told that maybe my rotors need to be turned, because I noticed the symptom started after I slamed on my brakes hard, at a trafic light camera intersection. Sucks that we all have this issue and no remedy yet. Good luck to us all! I'm definately keeping a look out for the solution to our problem.

Lead Lap
Mine's been vibrating a lot lately, my steering wheel used to sway everytime I hit a bump or heavily braked, my control arms were bad, well now when I slow down the car shakes but no steering wheel movement, i'm almost 85 percent sure my rotors are super warped, but the car also vibrates a lot at high speeds (70-90) I saw one of my sway bar links in the front is bent and already ordered both of them, together with lower ball joints and inner tie rods

Well I guess no one saw my post where I said it was the lower control arm #2 bushing (caster arm) (strut rod)....... I did this months ago and haven't had the shakes since. I think I actually made a post about it. It's easy to do in a day with a floor jack two jackstands and a tool kit, you can get the bushings off eBay. $70 for two bushings.

Just a hunch, put your car on a lift and set the speed with someone or a pedal depresser and watch the axel in at the point where it goes into the differential. I am wondering if you have play where the axels go into the pumpkin. This could be your bumping that you hear/feel. Let me know what you find..and dont do it on the floor on bricks!!! BE SAFE!
