Default How to add HD radio to 07 ultra

I have the 2013 ES as a loaner while my SC is in the shop. I really like the sound that the HD radio provides, , I would like to add HD radio to my 07 ultra ES. Has anyone done this. I like the idea on no monthly charges on HD vs Sat radio ?

Don

Update
I had a local stereo shop install an isimple gatway and hd tuner today. I must say the ML fm never sounded so good. I would say it is cd quality sound..

Might I ask how much that cost? Also, what may be a stupid question does HD improve reception in general? I have an 07 but find the radio reception to be pretty weak (unless it's really strong and just getting people's modulators ).

I found hd radio adapters on ebay for $199 but I decided it would be more than I wanted as a diy. I went with a local stereo shop who would install the ebay kit but with no warranty. The shop charged $350 for the Isimple gate way and Hd tuner and it also provides a cable that plugs into the Iphone. I have a choice of hd1 and hd2 stations that are broadcast from Orlando which is 50 miles away.
I am very impressed with the sound quality. Sounds like sat radio without the monthly charge. ..

Thanks for the response and the info. The installed price sounds more than I'm looking to go in for, I wonder how hard a DIY would be. I'm hoping to install a Vais module anyway, so maybe while I'm back there..... (Assuming the two can be installed together).

If you have a non-nav factory system then buying an aftermarket head unit with HD radio may be a cheaper alternative. I did not want HD but I wanted more music than the factory 6 disc changer (even with compressed music) could provide so I went with a Pioneer model. Not only did I get a massive amount of storage (32GB SD card and a 64 GB USB drive), I got DVD, Bluetooth music streaming and a backup cam that I did not originally have.

Thanks but I have nav / ML so anything I'd do would be with the factory head unit / screen.
