sticky melting dash

Codejd,
Thanks for that part number.
So it appears that "black" is the same as "gray". I can't see where they offer a replacement in gray? I have the gray/black and ivory color interior color scheme in my 350.
One last request, would you care to elaborate on how you were eventually able to get Lexus to step up and cover your replacement?
Thanks again for your help!

As to your second question, I guess I got lucky in that one day after exhibiting problems they did not consider to be sticky melting dash (see earlier posts in thread) I came out to my car to find the condition had worsened, so I drove directly there beginning the entire complaint process again to which they finally agreed. Of course I will say there was a time limit on this warranty enhancement (which I barely got in under) that I know is over now so it may prove more difficult for you but I would not give up!

I have a 2007 es350 with the same sticky melting dash problem. I bought it used in 2010 from a Lexus dealer. It only has 86,000 miles on it, but has been constantly in the sun in Mississippi. It has gotten worse in the past year. Not worth replacing dash at this stage of the game.

I just purchased a 2008 ES350 a couple of months ago. When I bought it, it had a sticky part above the instrument panel the salesman ( used car dealer- Toyota Mall of Georgia) said they would clean it up. Turns out it is not just sticky, the whole dash top when it sits in the sun starts breaking down. The dash is a foam, cushy material but I have found hundreds of threads on 2002 IS with the exact problem, but not so many o n th ES. Does anyone else have this problem with their dash? I know it is breaking down due to heat, and it ends up "shining" giving a reflection in the window that is distracting and unsafe. I anticipate pursuing Lexus further as they claiim they have never heard of the problem. Toyota dealer says there is a "paint" they can use to fix it.... I don't like this fix. I think this is a Lexus problem, and I will get this fixed. For a $30K used car, I drive a lot and driving in GA or the south for hours, I can't put a window reflector up- nor should I have to. It's a LEXUS??? Help?? Speak up if you have this problem. Again, ES350, not an IS with melting/sticky dash - unacceptable in my opinion and Lexus does not help.

What is the price for a new one minus labor?

Sticky melting dash too
I don't know the price breakdown of just the part. I just remember the total price that the service advisor quoted me. I am not planning to pay the dealer to get that done. I was hoping Lexus Corporate would decide to extend the period of their voluntary program and replace it for free like they did for others with that issue between 2017 and 2021. I plan to just get ome of those ugly carpet mats for the dashboard since I am tired of having everything stick to it and not ready to get a new car yet. It barely has 115k miles on it and runs great!
