Besides, why would someone want to drive with sunroof and windows open on a nice Spring day with the AC on?

If the compressor seizes then it will take out the belt and you are stopped. Then you just fix it. If it screams without the compressor locking up then you have a belt problem and you need to fix that. As to the sun roof I enjoy it in the summer but I still leave the AC on 68* just to keep my feet cool. To each his own I guess.
