how much should I offer for the 2009 ES350?
I live in the Bay Area in Northern CA. I'd like to lease a 2009 ES350. The invoice for this car on Edmunds is listed as $30,431 and MSRP is listed as $34,320.
The 2008 and 2009 invoice pricings are very much similar. I can't find the invoice pricing for the different options for the 2009 ES, but they show the options invoice pricing for the 2008. Since the invoice price for the car for 2008 and 2009 are very similiar, I will be using the 2008 invoice pricings (for the options) to buy my 2009 ES 350.
Because the economy is bad right now, if I offer $500 above the dealer's invoice price for the 2009 ES350, is that reasonable?
Any advice as to what to watch for, when leasing a Lexus? Thanks.

how much should I offer for a 2009 Lexus, in general
Is it reasonable, at this time when the economy is bad, to offer $500 above the dealer's invoice price for a 2009 Lexus? Here's my situation:

Amy,I think your should post this on the ES forum to see what the others are buying them for.I can offer you this.In 2006 when we bought an ES330,we bought it for 4k off the MSRP,and thats when the economy was good.

I guess it depends on how much hassle you want. Especially in California, you can probably get below invoice, but if you just want to walk in, pick one, tell them $500 above and you sign right now, sign and go...go with $500 over.
It'll certainly be the quickest and easiest route.

In Minnesota, just paid $36500 for an 09 ES350 with MSRP of $41704. This included a $1000 credit for financing this car and being a previous Lexus Financial customer. Intend to pay off after a month since rate was 7.5%.

Start at 1500 below invoice...ES sales are own 30% for the month (Nov) from a year ago use that and the economy...push the dealer over the cliff There are tons of dealers somebody will bite

Non Ultra Luxury? You start below invoice. I dunno about $1500 under but $500-1000 is totally doable. They will match SoCal prices as well. You can always e-mail Longo in SoCal and see what their price is, then get a NorCal one to match you.

Also what's the best way to shop for a quote from multiple dealers - email them a spec and ask for the lowest price, or to suggest a price and see who bites?

Just picked up mine yesterday
Just picked up my 2008 ES350 Pebble Beach leftover for 34500 in New Jersey. Sticker was 43,495. We were pricing out 09's and dealer easily started talking at 36K.
To shop around call dealers and ask them for a price. If its not low enough tell them you are pricing around because you have a deal and make up a price.

Just Bought a 2009 ES 250
I just bought a 2009 ES350. The sticker price was $38,285. I won't go into all the features, but it has the most common features with the exception of Navigation system. I pursued several dealers here in Florida (e-mail is fantastic) and eventually I got the price down to $33,800.
I also had to pay $499.95 dealer service fee, $2,067 sales tax, and $300 tag registration. After all these and other insignificant costs, the out the door price was $36,878.
In my negotiation, I was able to get most dealers to knock off at least $4,000, sometimes right over the phone. But it was hard to get a price much less than that. I am very satisfied with the new car and happy about my price.
